A warm and experiential journey through The Myth of Normal by Dr. Gabor Maté and
Daniel Maté.

This intimate eight-week circle is for those who want to explore the book beyond
an intellectual level. Together, we will reflect on its teachings, gently explore the
patterns we carry, and bring the material into the body through therapeutic and
experiential practices.

Each gathering will include meaningful discussion, guided teaching,
nervous system support, and space for personal reflection and connection.

The Myth of Normal Workshop
An Eight-Week therapeutic Circle

What We Will Explore

Throughout the eight weeks, we will explore themes such as:

  • The meaning of trauma beyond major life events

  • The connection between emotional stress and physical health

  • Attachment, authenticity, and childhood adaptation

  • The ways we learn to disconnect from ourselves

  • Emotional suppression, boundaries, and relationships

  • Compassion as a pathway toward healing

  • Reconnecting with the body and its wisdom

  • Creating meaningful and sustainable change

This is not simply a traditional book club. It is a supportive therapeutic circle
where the teachings of the book are explored through conversation, embodiment, reflection, and shared experience.

Your Facilitator

I am a Registered Trauma-Informed Clinical Counsellor, Certified Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner,
Psychedelic-Assisted Therapist, and Certified Breathwork Facilitator.

Having trained in Dr. Gabor Maté’s Compassionate Inquiry approach, I bring a deep understanding of
the themes explored in The Myth of Normal. My work integrates trauma-informed counselling, mindfulness,
breathwork, nervous system awareness, somatic exploration, and compassionate self-inquiry.

My intention is to create a space where you feel safe, seen, and supported as you explore the material,
not only through the mind, but also through the wisdom of your body.

Who This Circle Is For

This experience may be supportive for you if you:

  • Feel deeply connected to the teachings of Gabor Maté

  • Want to understand your patterns with greater compassion

  • Are curious about the relationship between trauma, stress, and the body

  • Want to feel more connected to yourself and your authentic needs

  • Value both meaningful conversation and embodied experience

  • Are looking for a warm and supportive space for reflection and growth

What Makes This Circle Unique?

This is more than a book club. It is a therapist-led healing circle rooted in the teachings of The Myth of Normal.

As a Registered Trauma-Informed Clinical Counsellor and Certified Compassionate Inquiry Practitioner trained by Dr. Gabor Maté, I bring a deep understanding of the philosophy and clinical principles behind the book. Rather than simply discussing the chapters, we will explore how these ideas live within our own lives, relationships, bodies, and nervous systems.

Because I am a therapist, this circle offers something unique. When emotions, memories, or personal insights naturally arise, they are held within a safe, compassionate, and trauma-informed container. Together, we create a space where participants can explore with curiosity, connect with others, and feel supported while integrating the material in a meaningful way.

Through guided discussions, experiential practices, and shared reflection, this becomes more than reading a book, it becomes an opportunity for personal growth, deeper self-understanding, and healing in community.
